Subject: Is Singapore ready for an Acting Prime Minister from the minority race?
To the Editor:
I read with some consternation the Press Release from the Prime Minister's Office, which states that "[d]uring Prime Minister Lee’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Professor S Jayakumar will be the Acting Prime Minister from 20 to 28 November 2008".
I am highly concerned with this sudden chain of events - if Singapore is not even ready for a Prime Minister from a minority race in Singapore, then what more an Acting Prime Minister from a minority race in Singapore?
And what's more, he has been the Acting Prime Minister for the last nine days, without my knowledge! No wonder the Bangkok airport closed down!
This is clearly a sign that Singapore is not ready for a non-ethnic Chinese Prime Minister, and I urge the government to keep this logical correlation in mind when making decisions in the future.

I wonder if you really sent this letter - what a jibe that would have been, hahaha.
